Members of the IMW come from every area of the wine industry, from wine makers (for example Olivier Humbrecht MW of Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace) through journalists and wine writers (for example Jancis Robinson MW) to merchants and retailers all over the world.

All of them have passed the rigorous Master of Wine examination and have signed the Institute's Code of Conduct. This Code enshrines the Institute's requirement that all its members act in accordance with the highest professional standards.

With a total membership of 264, the Institute is an international organisation with 20 different nationalities so far represented among members who work or live in 22 countries around the globe.

Who are Masters of Wine?

The Institute holds a comprehensive database of the specialist knowledge and interests of the members, many of whom are willing to provide advice or consultancy services.
