Honorary Officers and Executive Director
The following Masters of Wine and the Executive Director are the core management team which leads the development and implementaion of the Institute's strategy and activities across the world.
The Chairman is the head of the Institute. The Chairman leads Council, provides direction for the Executive Director, and represents the Institute officially wherever possible. Directly elected by the members, the position of Chairman is limited to two one-year terms.
Vice Chairman (Lynne Sherriff MW)
The Vice Chairman is second to the Chairman, and assists in representing the Institute. The Vice-Chairman is also directly elected by the membersand is limited to two one-year terms.
Deputy Vice Chairman (Jean-Michel Valette MW)
The Deputy Vice Chairman assists the Chairman and the Vice Chairman. The role is directly elected by the membership for a one-year term, every two years.
The Treasurer is also the Company Secretary of the Institute and works closely with the executive office to ensure that the Institute's finances are well managed. The Treasurer is elected by the membership for an indefinite term but the position is reviewed annually.
Executive Director (Siobhan Turner)
The Executive Director works full time for the Institute and is responsible for its day to day operations. As a member of the Management Team and Council, the Executive Director also contributes to the strategic development of the Institute.
