The Education Programme

Becoming a Master of Wine is internationally recognised as the pinnacle of professional achievement in the world of wine. The Institute's education programme is primarily aimed at wine trade professionals and is designed to prepare candidates for the Masters of Wine Examination. It is a guided self-study programme which takes a minimum of three years to complete. In this section you will find more information about the programme, including details of the syllabus and how to apply to become a student of the Institute.

About the Programme

The videos in this section were recorded during a master class open day for prospective students in London in May 2010 with Clive Barlow MW, Chairman of the Institute's Education Committee. They provide an introduction to the programme and address some of the common questions that arise when someone considers studying towards achieving the Master of Wine qualification. The presentations can also be downloaded as MP3 audio files.
