The walk-around event is held in the historic Vintners' Hall in the City of London and has become a key tasting in the Institute's events calendar. It represents a singular opportunity to assess the wines, both white and red, from some of the region's finest producers. Established in 1997, the tasting is hosted annually in conjunction with the Domaines Familiaux de Tradition, a group of family producers from some of the most highly respected domaines in the Côte d’Or.
It will feature almost 70 individual wines from the 2007 vintage and takes place from 10am to 1pm on 8th February 2010. Download the full wine list here.
Burgundy 2007 Tasting Book
Members of the Domaines Familiaux de Tradition whose 2007 wines will feature at the tasting include: Marquis d’Angerville; Simon Bize; Chandon de Briailles; Bruno Clair; Joseph Drouhin; Domaine Dujac; Domaine Faiveley; Henri Gouges; Jean Grivot; Michel Lafarge; Dominique Lafon; Bonneau du Martray; Hubert de Montille; Armand Rousseau; Tollot-Beaut et Fils; Chateau de la Tour; Chateau de Chorey; Senard; De Suremain; Leflaive; Mugnier; Pierre Moray; Roumier; Gaunoux; and Jean-Louis Trapet.
In addition to the Domaines Familiaux de Tradition producers listed above, Maison Louis Jadot, a major supporter of the Institute, has provided samples of its 2007 wines for the tasting.
Mark Bingley MW, Chairman of the Institute’s Events Committee says: “This tasting provides an excellent overview of the vintage due to its timing, as the 2007 wines have now settled in bottle. It has become the must attend annual tasting for Masters of Wine, our students, and members of the wine trade with a serious interest in Burgundy. The range of wines offered in the tasting is very important in enabling those attending to gain the fullest impression of the characteristics and quality of the vintage.”
