  1. Institute of Masters of Wine gears up for biggest Symposium ever

    The Institute of Master of Wine‘s 8th International Symposium, which is being held in Florence from 15th to 18th May, will be the largest ever. The Institute have confirmed that the Symposium already has over 400 delegates, from more than 30 countries, attending the event, which is open to all wine professionals with a serious interest in the future of our industry. 124 Masters of Wine will be present, which is also a new record.

  2. Plantagenet Wines’ Chief Winemaker wins 2014 Lallemand Bursary

    The Institute of Masters of Wine and Lallemand are delighted to announce that Cath Oates, of Mount Barker, Western Australia, has won the 2014 Lallemand Bursary. The bursary, established in 2010, is open to students in the Institute’s study programme and provides a fully-funded place at the Institute’s 8th International Symposium, which is taking place in Italy for the first time in May.

    Today, the Institute of Masters of Wine and international publication The Drinks Business announced Anne Claude Leflaive as the recipient of the 2014 Winemakers’ Winemaker Award. The award, which was inaugurated in 2011, recognises outstanding achievement in the field of winemaking, and is voted on by a panel of winemaking peers that comprises all Masters of Wine who are winemakers plus the award’s past winners.

The tasting, which will take place on 15 May 2014, during the Institute’s 8th International Symposium in Florence, will reflect the global reach of the Master of Wine family. MW Winemaking expertise from France, Germany, Austria, the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, and South Africa will be on show.

  6. Spouse/partner tickets now available for Florence Symposium

    The Institute is now offering spouse/partner tickets to attendees at the Symposium in Florence from 15-18 May. These tickets will be priced at EUR 220.00 plus IVA, and will enable partners to join delegates at the three spectacular evening events.
