The Institute of Masters of Wine is delighted to announce an important seminar and comparative tasting of wines from Austria and Hungary, to be held in London on 12 October 2010.
Organised in partnership with its supporters the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, Wines of Hungary and the Esterházy Foundation, the event will provide a unique opportunity to participate in a comparative tasting of red, white and sweet wines with winemakers from both countries.
Hosted by the Austrian Embassy in London, the day will begin with Willi Klinger, Director of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, and Richárd Nemes of Wines of Hungary each giving an overview of their country’s winemaking. Elisabeth Kamper of the Esterházy Foundation will provide additional commentary on the Esterházy family’s role as a key link between both distinguished winemaking traditions.
A tasting and panel discussion, moderated by Elizabeth Gabay MW, will follow, comprising three themed flights with one winemaker representing each country per flight.
