Wines of Hungary, the national body for Hungarian wine, was established in 2005. It was founded by the leading Hungarian winemakers and associations with the aim of promoting Hungarian wine on the domestic and global markets. Its main activities include promoting quality, marketing, organising press trips, tastings and securing media coverage.
Wines of Hungary became a Major Supporter of the Institute in 2009. Its financial support is directed towards underwriting the translation costs of the theory papers at the annual Masters of Wine Examination. This significantly assists students in the Institute's education programme by reducing the translation fees and make the examination more accessible to those whose first language is not English.
Richard Nemes, Managing Director of Wines of Hungary, said: “It is our honour to support The Institute of Masters of Wine and its intention to further expand high-level wine education globally. It is our hope that by co-financing translation costs Wines of Hungary will contribute to the worldwide spread of the Institute’s excellent education programme.”
