Entered the wine industry in 1970 working for Alexis Lichine in Bordeaux. He then worked in production and distribution, and subsequently Marketing Management for Hedges and Butler, finishing as Director responsible for Wine and Spirit supplies to the Bass Group. In 1980 moved to Bass, becoming Marketing and Commercial Director for Bass Mitchells & Butlers Ltd then European Director, Bass Brewers. In 1990 he joined Joseph Drouhin as Managing Director of the UK company, then in 1993 he merged Domaines Drouhin in the UK with Mentzendorff & Company, where he became Managing Director. He was International Head of Wine at Christies and a Director of Christie Manson & Woods in the late 1990's. He currently values wine collections for probate or divorce purposes, advises a number of vineyards in various countries, and in 2014 founded wotwine? the app which reviews and evaluates all supermarket wines for the consumer. Christopher is a sought after and entertaining after dinner speaker.
