Emma Symington MW has worked in the wine trade for the past 20 years in a variety of roles including selling and buying wine as well as working a vintage in New Zealand. Today she is Head of Education, EMEA for Wine Australia, organising and hosting a series of tastings, seminars and masterclasses across UK and Europe to increase enthusiasm and knowledge in Australia’s wines and wine regions. She is also a certified Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) educator, wine judge and lapsed wine writer, having won the Emerging Wine Writer category in the 2014 Louis Roederer Awards.

After winning the Vintners' Cup and Vintners' Scholarship for the top WSET Diploma graduate in 2011, Emma embarked on the Master of Wine course, becoming an MW in 2015. Since then she has been actively involved with the IMW’s education committee, acting as the Research Paper co-ordinator, as well as assisting with the Events Committee and sitting on Council. She is now also co-chair of the upcoming IMW Symposium in Adelaide.
