González Byass' Sherry Master course

11 - 13 September 2018  | Spain

We are delighted to let you know that one of the Institute’s Supporters, González Byass, is offering 5 spaces on their acclaimed Sherry Master course, in Jerez, in the middle of September this year.

There are 5 places for Masters of Wine, who will need to make their way to Jerez by 12 September 2018. GB will look after accommodation and everything else once you’ve arrived. Unfortunately this coincides with the Institute’s Annual General Meeting, which will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 12 September, so some of you might not chose to apply.

As always those people lucky enough to attend will be chosen by lottery, and there will be a £100 admin fee. The deadline is 6 July. If you would like to be added to the waitlist please email Belinda Eaton, beaton@mastersofwine.org

Please find below more details from González Byass:

The 2018 Sherry Master by Tio Pepe edition will take place in Jerez, 12 and 13 of September. The Sherry Master is an intensive program in Jerez, where guests will spend 2 days with winemaker and Master blender Antonio Flores, getting in-depth knowledge of the region and our wines. They will visit vineyards, see our historical archives where we keep documents from the origins of the company in 1835, sample directly from barrel, enjoy local food and of course taste with Antonio.

Each year we have a guest speaker which gives a lecture on some of our wines. Last year we had Fred Dame MS, which gave a lecture on Palos Cortados. We have had Ronan Sayburn MS, Pedro Ballesteros MW, Sarah Jane Evans MW and Josep Roca from Celler de Can Roca as guest speakers on the past. This year’s speaker isn’t confirmed yet.
