Introductory Weekend: Haro (Rioja), Spain

23 - 24 March 2018  |

The Institute of Masters of Wine, in collaboration with La Fundación para la Cultura del Vino, is organising an introductory MW weekend to be held in Haro, Spain in March 2018.

As part of its annual calendar of outreach events, the Institute organises a variety of workshops and introductory classes to interested participants. The focus at these events is to introduce both its study programme and its examination by showcasing the MW approach to wine tasting and theory topics in a practical and relevant way.

The Spain programme will take place on 23 and 24 March 2018. A number of MWs will be leading the programme, including Pedro Ballesteros MW. They will explain the MW approach to the examination syllabus with a special focus on the writing and tasting skills required to become a Master of Wine. The class will include several tastings of different wines from different regions of the world. As well as tastings throughout the day, evening dinners are included as part of the programme and these will provide further tasting opportunities led by MWs and producers.

Attendees who are eligible to join the MW study programme will be given the chance to apply online for the study programme in June 2018, at a discounted rate from the normal application fee.
