The Institute's sixth international symposium, entitled Lateral Vision: Fresh Ideas and Actions for the Global Wine Community, pulled the cork on conventional thinking about wine. The three-day programme, held in Napa in June, was attended by more than 200 delegates and was full of intriguing content.

The Napa programme included focused marketing and positioning strategies, legislative actions in the USA, critics discussing wine quality, and a round table discussion about the future of the wine industry with worldwide sector leaders.
