New Zealand MW trip

19 - 27 February 2019  | New Zealand

We are very pleased to announce the 2019 Masters of Wine trip to New Zealand.

The trip will showcase the depth and breadth of New Zealand wine, exploring the regions of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough, Marlborough and Central Otago, incorporating tastings of wines from Gisborne, Nelson and Canterbury/Waipara. It will provide an invaluable opportunity to learn about what makes New Zealand wine unique and globally dynamic.

An exciting programme of vineyard and winery visits, tastings and lectures is being put in place, all supported by the famous laid-back Kiwi hospitality - expect sunshine, beaches and seafood (though do bring a warm jacket, too – we are talking cool climate wine production, after all!).

Courtesy of Air New Zealand Fine Wines of New Zealand, the trip will also include a special charter flight departing Blenheim and flying low level across Marlborough, Nelson and down the spectacular Kaikoura coastline (the north eastern side of the South Island) over Waipara, arriving into Christchurch. You will also get to relax on board the Interislander ferry as it crosses the Cook Strait between Wellington and Picton, via the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, and take a coach ride from Christchurch, wending across the Canterbury Plains, past the glacial lakes of the Mackenzie Basin and the Southern Alps’ highest peak, Aoraki/Mt Cook, into Central Otago. Plus we should be able to find room for a bit of craft beer, local gin and maybe even a hokey pokey ice cream or two.
