Biography

Since January 2019 Catherine has been working in the vineyards and cellar at Domaine Comte Armand in Pommard, Burgundy. It is her fourth consecutive harvest in the cellar at this domaine. Over the past decade she has done vintages in the Côte de Nuits, Sancerre, Bordeaux, Friuli, Mornington Peninsula and Martinborough. Although she is now working full time in Burgundy, these other positions were taken up in holiday breaks from her office job in London. Between 2015 and 2018 she was a buyer at Burgundy specialist, Goedhuis & Co. Previous to that she worked for Robert Rolls & Co. in London. Her knowledge spans both the commercial and production sides of fine wine with a particular interest in Burgundy and Sancerre. She is part of the "Burgfest" tasting group and has in-depth knowledge of recent vintages in the region both through vinification of the 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintages there, and through widely tasting as a buyer focused on en primeur releases. Having spent the 2014 and 2015 vintages in Sancerre she chose to write her Research Paper on the region's single vineyards and remains an advocate for and great admirer of that region.
