About the panellists
Stephen Duckett
Stephen is the founder and managing director of Hundred Hills vineyards and winery, located in the Stonor Valley, England. Stephen has a first class masters degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University, and was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Business School, where he was awarded an MBA with distinction. Stephen founded Hundred Hills, together with his wife Fiona, in 2012 after a three-year search for the best land on which to plant English vines. The Winery at Hundred Hills aims to produce fine, sparkling, vintage wines, made only from the single-estate vines grown on the steep slopes of the dry chalk valley. Each of the ten parcels within the vineyard are separately managed, harvested and vinified to allow the creation of a range of very individual and varied wines that look to cleanly and clearly express the very distinctive terroirs and vintages they emerge from.
Mark Harvey:
Following previous roles with Dom Pérignon and as part of the Management Team of Moët Hennessy UK, in 2015 Mark moved on from LVMH, thrilled to be offered the role of Managing Director of the Wine division at Chapel Down. The English Wine revolution is gathering momentum as Chapel Down consolidates its position as market leader in this dynamic industry. The reputation of the company continues to grow with the launch of a range of Single Vineyard wines winning international acclaim, plus more recently the addition of a range of exceptional spirits, ‘made by winemakers’. Mark is excited about the future of Chapel Down with exciting plans sure to surprise and delight consumers every step of the way!
Justin Howard-Sneyd MW
Since 2007, Justin has produced his own wine (www.domaineofthebee.com) from 4 hectares of vines in the Roussillon region of the South of France, near the village of Maury. In 2014, Justin launched an English Sparkling wine brand of his own – Hart of Gold – made at Ridgeview Wine Estate and sourced from grapes grown near Ross-on-Wye.
