IMW principal supporter, Austrian Wine, is hosting a webinar and virtual tasting on 10 August. Two sessions are available to choose from.

Session 1, 10:00 – 11:30 BST (UK) / 11:00 – 12:30 MET (Austria)
Session 2, 19:00 – 20:30 BST (UK) / 20:00 – 21:30 MET (Austria)

Austria has been internationally recognised mostly for its crisp and vibrant Grüner Veltliner and Riesling alongside its indigenous reds Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt. Yet, for centuries, Austria had a strong influx of monks from Burgundy, be it Cistercians or Benedictines. With that, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent are not strangers to the country even though their quantitative significance is minor.

Austria can make refined wines from these treasured grapes and let the sense of place speak, from Steiermark to Burgenland to the Danube region.

Join Annette Scarfe MW and Andreas Wickhoff MW for a tutored tasting of 12 wines focusing on Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent.

Wine samples available – requests close 28 June

A limited number of complimentary wine samples are available exclusively for Masters of Wine and members of the trade. For anyone not selected to receive samples or based outside of the delivery regions, you are invited to watch the webinar live.
