I started work with Grants of St James's in 1967 as a production trainee. After a thoroughly enjoyable career at Grants, ending as Quality Assurance and Development Manager, I moved to Victoria Wine in 1992 and spent five years there on the technical side, having the opportunity to make wine for the company in France and California. After VWC, I moved to Bibendum in North London in 1997 and spent three years looking after technical aspects with some wine-buying, travelling to many wine-producing regions. After leaving Bibendum, I did some technical consultancy work, before deciding to retire.
