I passed the exams at the first attempt in 2004 and was top student in my year. By training a linguist and a book editor, I have happily combined my first life in publishing with my second life in wine. Since 2005, I have been Jancis Robinson's 'wing woman' (to quote Neal Martin). I write for and ensure the high editorial standards of JancisRobinson.com, am co-editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine (lead editor for the forthcoming 5th edition) and co-author of Wine Grapes (2012). I was responsible for editing and updating the maps for the 7th and 8th editions of The World Atlas of Wine. I live in London, taste and travel as widely as I can, and keep fit and sane thanks to bootcamp in the park, rain or shine, and yoga.
