A graduate of Cambridge University, Mark Bingley has devoted his professional career to the wine trade. Although his first career plan was to become a lawyer, a temporary job in the wine trade fired a passion for wine. Abandoning his dry legal training he started working for a City of London Wine Merchant and then joined H Parrot (UK Agency House for Veuve Clicquot) and started studying for the Master of Wine qualification, qualifying as a Master of Wine in 1983

In 1986 Mark was a founding Director of Maisons Marques et Domaines Ltd, the UK Agency House of Champagne Louis Roederer, which today represents many of the greatest private family estates of the wine world alongside the Roederer Family Estates.

He chaired the IMW Education Committee, was a Practical Paper Examiner and chaired the European Events Committee.

In 2026 he retired from MMD and now is still active in the UK Wine Trade continuing as a Wine Consultant and presenting tastings and wine events.
