My original studies were in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Sydney, however a burgeoning interest in the many facets of wine was nurtured by way of experience in Burgundy, California and various regions of Australia, and graduating with an MSc in Enology from UC Davis in 1991. I subsequently settled in the Yarra Valley, in due course establishing a consulting/contract winemaking business, Oenovation Pty Ltd, and my wine brands, Métier and Milkwood Wines. More recent studies saw me return to biochemistry and post-doctoral work in pharmaceutical sciences and now mental health research, however my wine production consultancy activities continue within Australia and beyond.
