Mary Margaret became a Master of Wine in 2016. She was the recipient of two prestigious awards for her performance on the Master of Wine exams, earning both the Bollinger Medal for the top tasting score and the Overall Achievement Award for being the overall highest score on all parts of the MW exam. In addition to being a Master of Wine, Mary Margaret holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Teaching, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was also a four-year varsity swimmer. Mary Margaret completed the WSET Diploma in 2011 and was awarded the Wine Australia Scholarship for achieving the highest overall score in the United States. Mary Margaret has worked on nearly every side of the wine business, with experience in restaurant, wholesale, retail, and direct to consumer wine sales in key U.S. markets, including New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. These roles have allowed her to develop extensive experience in wine sales and education, as well as marketing, writing, and developing wine-related curriculum for both professionals and consumers. Currently, Mary Margaret resides in Napa, California, where she is the sales manager at Screaming Eagle and the General Manager of Karolus Wine Imports, which represents Bonneau du Martray in the United States. When not selling, teaching, or talking about wine, you can find Mary Margaret drinking it. Her glass is usually filled with Burgundy or Champagne.
