Matthew is an independent wine education consultant based in London. A former director at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust where he led the team responsible for the design and award of WSET qualifications in wines, spirits and sake globally, Matthew advises regional wine associations and other industry stakeholders on wine training programmes, qualification development and assessment. Founder of The Wine Partnership, he works with corporates, charities and education institutions on a project basis, focussing on change management, strategy and operations.

A modern languages graduate and lawyer, Matthew became a Master of Wine in 2016, having been awarded the IMW Lallemand Scholarship and the AXA Millésimes Noval Award for his research paper on vintage madeira. Having lived and worked in Madrid, Lisbon and São Paulo, he is particularly interested in the food and wine cultures of the Iberian peninsula.
