The Peloponnese is one of the oldest continuously farmed viticultural regions in the world, characterized by dramatic landscapes that swoop from mountain peaks to craggy coastlines. Wine has been produced here for over 4,000 years, and during the Byzantine era the region was the source of Greece’s most renowned wines. This trip will explore the mountainous slopes and hidden valleys of the viticultural areas of Aigialeia, Nemea, Mantinia and Monemvassia, and participants will enjoy a full immersion in the culture of this historic region, taste a wide diversity of indigenous varieties, and experience the viticultural revival taking place in Greece’s hidden gem.
