MW study programme update

MW study programme update
After rigorous internal debate and extensive consideration of all options, the IMW has postponed the June stage one assessment and the stage two closed book exam.

Ultimately, despite our exam committee, education committee and executive team’s best efforts, we feel there is no choice but to move the date.

The decision has not been taken lightly. There is still so much uncertainty in the world, and the safety of our students, MWs and the executive team remain paramount.

Our aim from the outset of this extraordinary academic year has been to ensure as many students as possible can complete the exam or S1A.

Despite the change of date, we remain committed to delivering the S1A and the closed book exam in 2021.

The S1A will take place online, on 4 August.

The stage two closed book exam will take place from Tuesday 31 August to Friday 3 September, in person. Changing the date to September gives a greater chance for most students to sit the exam in person. We are exploring (and already have at great length) the possibility of holding the exam in more venues across different geographies. The exam cannot be delivered online.

We will be running additional online educational opportunities in June and July to help students prepare for the online assessment and in-person exam. These will be available to those students who attended a seminar this year and those who ‘opted out’.

We know this will not be the perfect scenario for everyone, but we believe this is the best option.

We understand this news will raise many questions, and we will continue to communicate with students as we refine the details further, including holding a series of Q&A webinars in the coming days.
