Success for Norway and Canada in IMW/Reh Kendermann bursary contest

The Institute of Masters of Wine is delighted to announce that the winners of the 2013 Reh Kendermann student bursary are Aina Mee Myhre, Product Manager at Moestue Grape Selections, Oslo, Norway, and Eugene Mlynczyk of Constellation Brands in Canada.

Reh Kendermann has been providing an annual bursary for two Master of Wine students for more than ten years. This bursary enables students to travel to Germany to experience first-hand the changes that have shaped German wine-growing over the years as well as the innovations which are driving German wine sales in domestic and international markets. In order to win the bursary, students submit an MW-style essay on a topic concerning German wines, which is then evaluated.

Alison Flemming MW, Export Sales Director at Reh Kendermann, said:

“This year we were very pleased with the number and quality of entries for the bursary. We are delighted that we will be able to welcome Aina and Eugene to Germany later in the year, where they will visit us, as well as other leading wine producers, in order to gain a well-balanced view of the German wine scene today.”

Jean-Michel Valette MW, Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine, said:

“Our long association with Reh Kendermann has meant that some of our most able students have been given an opportunity that they might not otherwise have had to see the German wine industry from the inside. It’s an excellent learning experience for the winners, and a welcome chance for the Institute to forge links, both present and future, with an important wine-producing nation”.

Reh Kendermann GmbH Weinkellerei is a family-owned wine company and the leading producer of German branded wines with many award-winning wines in its portfolio. Its wines are enjoyed in Germany and in export markets worldwide.
