Philip Goodband MW is an active International independent consultant Master of Wine with a particular interest in innovation in the wine sector, sustainability and the environment. He has held many leadership roles at the top of the Wine and Spirits Industry. Philip was uniquely Vintners Scholar and the youngest ever Master of Wine in the same year, rising to be Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine in 1984/85 when he championed the Internationalisation of the Institute. His senior appointments include Directorships of Stowells of Chelsea, European Cellars Group, Grants of St James's, the Wine Promotions Board, and the Wine Standards Board of the UK. For many years until 2020 Philip served as Chair of Judges at the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

He is proud to have served for over a decade as wine adviser to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. He also served as a Trustee of the WSET and for a number of years as senior tutor for the WSET School in London and On Line.

He is currently, inter alia, on the advisory board of FIVS and a Trustee/ Director of the IMW Endowment Company.

His international perspective on the wine Industry is further strengthened by his tourism work, as Counsellor to the Grand Conseil de Bordeaux and his numerous consultancies.
