Having graduated from Sussex University I started in the wine trade with Avery's of Bristol in 1986. Having worked here for probably far too long, the drive to pass the MW exams led me to work in a number of wineries in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, California and Italy. I eventually returned to the UK in 1993 to help establish the New Hatch Mansfield with Mark Calver and Patrick McGrath MW, where I am currently the Wine Director.
