Rebecca Hull MW

Became an MW 1997

Based in United Kingdom

Born in Bristol in 1968, and brought up in Hertfordshire, I studied French and Russian Languages at Birmingham University, including an amazing three month placement at the University of Moscow. A keen interest in wine first became a career at Oddbins, and I moved to Sainsbury's Wine Department in 1992. At Sainsbury's I worked in wine marketing, and as a wine buyer, specialising in New World areas before becoming Wine Category Manager, responsible for buying and promotional strategy. I completed the WSET Diploma in 1994, winning the Rouyer Guillet cup, and passed straight on to tackle the MW, which I gained in 1997, picking up the Tim Derouet award. I joined Waitrose in 2006 and am now a Wine Buyer, responsible for Champagne & Sparkling and England & Wales. In my spare time, my other passion, besides wine, is my garden.
