I spent nine years in the wine trade, first with The Wine Society, then Louis Eschenauer in Bordeaux, and then back to London with H Sichel & Sons, then Findlater Matta, and finally briefly Les Amis du Vin, before becoming a freelance wine writer in 1981. I have written thirteen books, including three on Chablis, two on Tuscany, New Zealand and the South of France, and contribute to various magazines, such as Decanter and Sommelier India, and also write a blog on the Languedoc: www.tastelanguedoc.blogspot.com
