Bordeaux student trip

Now in its 24th year, the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés 1885 will host a group of 20 stage one students from 14-17 March 2022.

The trip will include visits to numerous chateaux, guided tastings and communes demonstrating longevity, maturation and terroir differences as well as talks on the history of Bordeaux wine production and the Bordeaux trade system. Chateau visits will commence at 15:00 on 14 March with the final visit (dinner) taking place on the evening of the 16 March.

Mary Gorman-McAdams MW will accompany the group.

Arrival and departure

Students will need to make their own arrangements to and from Bordeaux.

Arrival by midday on 14 March. Students can depart at their preferred time on 17 March.

Eligibility

The trip is open to all stage one students, although places are limited to 20 and will be allocated randomly after the closing date. Preference will be given to students who have not been on this trip before.

The trip is fully funded by the Conseil, except for the travel costs to and from Bordeaux, which is the student’s responsibility and an administrative fee of £200.

In accordance with government guidelines in France all attendees on this trip must provide proof of full vaccination in order to participate. This includes a booster dose.

Please do not book any travel arrangements until your place on this trip is confirmed.

Selection process

To apply please complete this form by 18 February. Places will be chosen via a random lottery process and all attending will be required to pay the non-refundable fee of £200. Places will be confirmed by 21 February.
