Bordeaux student trip

Description

The ‘add to basket’ function is for payment of the trip fee. Please only do this if you have received an email from the IMW instructing you to do so.

Now in its 26th year, the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés 1885 will host a group of stage one students from 25-28 March 2024 for the annual Bordeaux student trip.

The trip will include guided tastings, visits to numerous chateaux and communes demonstrating longevity, maturation and terroir differences, as well as talks on the history of Bordeaux wine production and the Bordeaux trade system.

Arrival and departure

Students will need to make their own arrangements to/from Bordeaux.

Arrival by midday Monday 25 March. Students can depart at their preferred time on Thursday 28 March.

Eligibility and trip fee

The trip is open to all Stage 1 students, although places are limited to 40 and will be allocated randomly after the closing date. Preference will be given to students who have not been on this trip before.

The trip is fully funded by the Conseil, except for the travel costs to and from Bordeaux, which are the student’s responsibility, and an administrative fee of approximately £350. The exact fee will be confirmed when spaces are offered.

Please do not book any travel arrangements until your place on this trip is confirmed.

Selection process

To apply please complete the registration form by 19th November 2023. Places will be chosen via a random lottery process and all attending will be required to pay the non-refundable fee. Selected applicants will be notified in December.
