Bordeaux student trip 2025

Now in its 27th year, the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés 1855 will host a group of stage one students from 24-26 March 2025 for the annual Bordeaux student trip.

The trip will include visits to numerous chateaux, guided tastings and communes demonstrating longevity, maturation and terroir differences as well as talks on the history of Bordeaux wine production, educational commented tasting with a MW and the Bordeaux trade system. 2025 also marks the 170th anniversary of Bordeaux 1855 Classification so it is a special year to visit the region. A detailed itinerary will be provided prior to departure.

Arrival and departure

Students will need to make their own arrangements to/from Bordeaux.

Arrival by midday Monday 24 March. Students can depart at their preferred time on Thursday 27 March.

Eligibility and trip fee

The trip is open to all Stage 1 students, although places are limited to 40 and will be selected by the host after the closing date. Preference will be given to students who have not been on this trip before.

The trip is fully funded by the Conseil, except for the travel costs to and from Bordeaux, which are the student’s responsibility, and an administrative fee of approximately £350.

Please do not book any travel arrangements until your place on this trip is confirmed.

Selection process

To apply please complete the registration form by 5 January 2025. Places will be chosen by the host and all attending will be required to pay the non-refundable fee. Selected applicants will be notified in the new year.
