Burgundy visit with Maison Albert Bichot 2026

Register

Description

It is now 17 years since Albert Bichot first invited a group of MW students to discover the vineyards of Burgundy and just under 50 of those who have participated in the trip are now Masters of Wine. We would like to think that the knowledge accumulated during the trip is still as relevant as ever to passing the MW exam.

Albert Bichot are once again pleased to invite students to apply to join the group that will visit Burgundy from 8-10 April 2026. The visit, for up to 12 students, will include visits to the Bichot domaines in Chablis, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. It will be led by Richard Bampfield MW who will be joined by Bichot’s own viticulturalists and winemakers.

The programme will begin in Beaune at 14:00 on 8 April and will finish in Beaune at approximately 15:30 on the 10 April. The cost of all meals and visits will be covered by Albert Bichot, who will also make the group hotel booking. Students will be expected to cover the costs of the two nights accommodation (typically less than 120 euros a night) and also their travel to and from Beaune.

Interested students should let the IMW office know by the end of December, indicating briefly their current role and what they would hope to achieve from the trip.
