Clare Valley student trip

Description

Following the Adelaide seminar, join us for a student trip to the Clare Valley. The Clare Valley offers a compelling opportunity to explore one of Australia’s most distinctive wine regions through its geology, elevation, vineyard sites and subregional diversity. Across the trip, we will travel through key parts of the Valley, examining the influence of varying soil types, mesoclimates and elevations on wine style and expression. We will meet with Clare Valley business owners, winemakers and winegrowers across a broad range of scales, from small family-run vineyards through to larger established producers, providing insight into differing approaches to viticulture, winemaking and regional identity.

Tastings throughout the visit will focus on wines that reflect the essence of Clare Valley, with particular attention to site, structure, longevity and the nuances that distinguish its subregions. Our base will be the newly renovated historic Rising Sun Hotel in Auburn, placing us at the southern end of the Valley and providing an ideal starting point from which to explore the region’s vineyards, landscapes, wines and people.

The cost per student is still being finalised, however it will be inclusive of all accommodation, transport, tasting and meals.
