We are pleased to announce that for the first time since 2018, the Margaret River Wine Association will host a group of students from Saturday 3 – Tuesday 6 February 2024, immediately after the Adelaide seminar.

A spectacular pocket in the secluded south-west of Australia, Margaret River is a coastal wine region with capes at its north and south, and the Margaret River waterway transecting the landscape. Its ancient granite landforms are amongst the oldest on the planet and ironstone gravels abound. Here, the powerful Indian and Southern Oceans meet, engulfing this land with the energy of fresh, salt-kissed air that has flown clean and untouched for thousands of kilometres. The pristine country, with its abundant forest, caves and endemic flora and fauna has been cared for by traditional owners, the Wadandi People for over 60,000 years to become one of the most important biodiversity hotspots on Earth. Margaret River is also a vigneron and winemaker’s paradise, gifted with the natural potential to grow some of the new world’s finest, revered wines. Margaret River looks forward to welcoming you.

Accommodation
Three nights accommodation is included in your host fees.

Arrival and departure
Students will need to make their own arrangements to and from Perth. Margaret River is approximately a 3-hour drive from Perth. Your hosts will arrange coach travel from Perth airport if you arrive by 12:15 on Saturday 3 February. It is highly recommended that you book the following flight before this fills up.

Eligibility
This trip is open to all current students (including those who are not attending the Adelaide seminar).

Trip fee – $1270 AUD
It was originally advertised that students would need to arrange their own accommodation and the fee for the trip was an estimate. We can now confirm that the full fee to participate is $1270 AUD this includes all fees and accommodation. This is payable in two parts the trip fee of $100 AUD payable to the IMW and your host costs of $1170 AUD. To confirm your space, please follow both links and pay both fees by Thursday 4 January.

How to pay –  due by 4 January
The organisers have created a direct payment link that covers their costs. This breaks down as follows:

• 3 nights’ accommodation ($170 per night GST inclusive)
• $600 tour cost + GST (total $660) – includes meals and coach travel from Perth
